El Cachot de Appelscha fue construido en 1921. Un "lugar de detención" para personas ebrias y que se comportan mal. El Cachot tiene 2 celdas, una para prisioneros masculinos y una para prisioneras femeninas. La ubicación fue determinada por el vigilante de campo.
La Asociación Histórica de Appelscha gestiona el cachot y ha llevado a cabo su restauración. Hasta donde se sabe, este es el único lugar de detención que queda en Frisia. Durante los meses de verano, el interior se puede visitar a través de las puertas de vidrio.
