Prestbury es un pueblo y parroquia civil en el distrito de Cheltenham en Gloucestershire, Inglaterra. Se encuentra en las afueras de Cheltenham y forma parte de la circunscripción parlamentaria de Tewkesbury.
El nombre del pueblo significa "lugar fortificado de sacerdotes", del anglosajón preost y burh, posiblemente de una mansión fortificada perteneciente al obispo de Hereford en el siglo XIII. El asentamiento se menciona como Preosdabyrig en 899-904. Prestbury está listado en el Libro del Juicio Final de 1086 como "Presteberie", parte de la propiedad de la iglesia de Hereford, con 18 aldeanos, cinco pequeños agricultores, un sacerdote, un hombre montando y 11 esclavos. Para el siglo XIII se había convertido en Presbery. En 1249 se le concedió al obispo de Hereford permiso para celebrar un mercado semanal junto con una feria anual de tres días en agosto.
