La rovina del portale della Ludgerusburg con opere fortificate risale alla seconda metà del XVII secolo. La Ludgerusburg è stata costruita sotto il principe-vescovo Christoph Bernhard von Galen, ma non è mai stata completata e dopo la morte del vescovo è stata demolita. La rovina del portale presenta nicchie chiuse a tutto sesto sui lati e parzialmente feritoie. L'impianto storico forma un accesso al parco cittadino di Coesfeld. È accessibile dal parco in direzione di Kulturallee Osterwicker Straße o dal marciapiede di Kulturallee.
