De huidige neoromaanse constructie dateert uit het midden van de 19de eeuw en vervangt een oude kapel. Een oude begraafplaats omringt de kerk.
Binnen valt de houten zoldering beschilderd met sjablonen op. De kerk geeft dankzij een recente herschildering een erg frisse indruk. De beelden van de kruisweg werden in de jaren zestig verwijderd maar werden ondertussen teruggeplaatst.
