Het Oud Sint-Janshospitaal of Oud Sint-Jan is een geheel van negentiende-eeuwse gebouwen in het centrum van Brugge. In 1977 werden de gebouwen door het ziekenhuis verlaten. Het middeleeuwse ziekenhuis was al museum geworden. De negentiende-eeuwse gebouwen worden gebruikt voor onder meer beurzen, evenementen, congressen e.d.
De achtergebleven negentiende-eeuwse gebouwen en een aantal recente bijgebouwen, stonden geruime tijd leeg. Het stadsbestuur, in de eerste plaats de recent benoemde burgemeester Frank Van Acker, had de intentie alles te slopen en plaats te maken voor de bouw van een grootschalig hotel, op te richten door een internationale hotelketen.
