Le pont parc E40 est l'un des deux ponts parc. Les ponts parc s'inscrivent dans la réalisation du projet 'Parkbos'. Il s'agit de deux ponts pour cyclistes et piétons. Ceux-ci sont situés au-dessus du Ringvaart/R4 et au-dessus de l'E40. Les ponts constituent un lien nécessaire pour la création d'une connexion de circulation lente sur l'ancienne voie ferrée entre la ville de Gand d'une part et le parc vert Parkbos et les noyaux résidentiels au sud de Gand d'autre part.
