Dette monument til ære for General Georges Smith Patton (1885-1945) blev indviet i 1957 på det sted, hvor han angiveligt motiverede sine soldater, der var på vej mod Bastogne under Ardenneroffensiven i december 1944.
Han døde som følge af en trafikulykke i Heidelberg (Tyskland) den 21. december 1945. Han er begravet på Hamm-kirkegården (Storhertugdømmet Luxembourg) blandt mændene fra den 3. armé.
