Boirs ligger ved sproggrænsen i dalen ved Jeker. Landsbyens centrum ligger syd for vejen fra Tongeren til Wezet, som ved Beurs har en forbindelse til motorvejen A13/E313. Også jernbanen fra Tongeren til Aachen krydser delkommunen. Indtil 1957 havde Boirs sin egen station langs jernbanen. Boirs er en bygd i Droog-Haspengouw. Landbruget er især til stede i form af markdyrkning. Delkommunen består desuden af den lille by Once, som ligger øst for landsbyens centrum.
