Denne neogotiske sognekirke (1871-1875) blev bygget i et daværende stærkt voksende fiskersamfund, som en erstatning for den tidlige gotiske kirke i den sydlige del af Heist (Koudekerke). I kirken er der særlig opmærksomhed på (sjæles)frelse for de (tidligere) fiskere og deres familier, samt på samlingen af billeder og relikvier af Sankt Anton Abt.
