This neo-Gothic parish church (1871-1875) was built in a rapidly growing fishing community at the time, as a replacement for the early Gothic church in the south of Heist (Koudekerke). In the church, special attention is given to the (spiritual) welfare of the (former) fishermen and their families, and to the collection of Saint Anthony the Great statues and relics.
