Hotel Alfonso XIII blev bygget som luksusindkvartering til verdensudstillingen i 1929, der delvist fandt sted i Barcelona og delvist i Sevilla. Bygningen stod færdig fra 1916 til 1928. Hotellet er opkaldt efter Kong Alfonso XIII af Spanien, som også indviede bygningen på det tidspunkt.
Hotellet blev designet af José Espiau y Muñoz i neo-mudejarstil. Interiøret er rigt dekoreret med azulejos og smedejernselementer. Hotellet har 147 værelser og suiter, som alle er unikke.
