Gaderne og pladserne i Wissembourg viser næsten alle maleriske bindingsværkshuse fra forgange tider. Smukt er Quartier du Bruch, hvorfra du har den smukkeste udsigt fra broen over Lauter. Også den gotiske kirke St.-Pierre-et-St.-Paul fra det 13. århundrede, en tidligere abdij med smukke glasmosaikker, og kirken St.-Jean fra det 15. århundrede med et romansk klokketårn, er smukke. Det er dejligt at slentre langs bredden af den lille flod Lauter, over de gamle beplantede voldgrave og gennem de smalle gamle gader.
