De straten en pleinen tonen in Wissembourg bijna allemaal schilderachtige vakwerkhuizen uit vroegere tijden. Mooi is het Quartier du Bruch, waarop u vanaf de brug over de Lauter het mooiste zicht heeft. Mooi is ook de gotische kerk St.-Pierre-et-St.-Paul uit de 13e eeuw, een vroegere abdij met fraaie kerkramen en de kerk St.-Jean uit de 15e eeuw met een Romaanse klokkentoren. Het is lekker slenteren langs de oevers van het riviertje de Lauter, over de oude beplante bolwerken en door de smalle oude straatjes.
