Les rues et les places de Wissembourg montrent presque tous des maisons à colombages pittoresques d'antan. Le Quartier du Bruch est magnifique, offrant la plus belle vue depuis le pont sur la Lauter. L'église gothique St.-Pierre-et-St.-Paul du 13e siècle, anciennement une abbaye avec de beaux vitraux, est également belle, tout comme l'église St.-Jean du 15e siècle avec son clocher roman. C'est agréable de flâner le long des rives de la petite rivière Lauter, à travers les anciennes fortifications plantées et dans les étroites ruelles anciennes.
