Die Kirche ist ein neoromanisches Bauwerk aus 1923, gebaut als Ersatz für einen ähnlichen Kirchenbau aus dem Jahre 1877. Nicht nur während des Ersten, aber auch während des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurde die Kirche schwer beschädigt. Die Instandsetzungen aus 1947 bestimmen dann auch die jetzige Aussicht. Die Giebel aus gelbem Backstein ruhen auf einem Sockel aus Hartstein. Der stilistische Unterschied mit den gotischen Kirchen von Nieuwpoort-Stadt und Sint-Joris wird mit einem Blick deutlich.
