Das Borrelmanneke schenkt Genever aus einem Fass aus, während es auf einem Ochsen sitzt. Zwischen den Beinen dieses Ochsen befinden sich Ferkel. Auf diese Weise symbolisiert die Statue den Kreislauf, der zwischen Brennereien, Viehzucht und Landwirtschaft entstanden ist.
Einmal im Jahr (während der Genever-Feste) fließt kein Wasser, sondern Genever aus seinem kleinen Fass.
