The Borrelmanneke pours gin from a barrel while sitting on an ox. Between the legs of that ox are piglets. In this way, the statue symbolizes the cycle that has arisen between distilleries, livestock farming, and agriculture.
Once a year (during the gin festivals), no water flows, but gin from his small barrel.
