Ob Deutschland ein Bierland ist, oder besser gesagt: war! In den dunklen Mittelalter hatte die Stadt Einbeck sage und schreibe 700 (siebenhundert) Brauereien auf ihrem kleinen Gebiet. Das ist kaum zu glauben, zumal nur eine übrig geblieben ist. Das berühmte Ainpockische Bier, wie es genannt wurde, sorgte sogar bis nach München für "Bier und Vergnügen", und die Herzöge von Bayern ließen bereits ab 1533 das goldgelbe Einbeckbier reichlich fließen. Einbeck war eine wohlhabende Hansestadt. Später sollte dieses Bier das bekannte Bockbier werden. Das Bier wurde damals zu Hause bei den Menschen gebraut, was erklärt, warum es so viele kleine Brauereien gab. 'Der beste Trank, den einer kennt, der wird Einbecker Bier genannt,' so klang es im Mund von Martin Luther auf dem Reichstag in Worms im Jahr 1521.
