Das Rathaus befindet sich seit dem 18. Jahrhundert am Place Stanislas. Seine große Fassade, die mit dem Wappen von Stanislas und dem Wappen der Stadt Nancy geschmückt ist, schließt den ehemaligen Königsplatz ab.
Die Türen öffnen sich zu einem Peristyl, das zur Ehrentreppe führt, die mit einem schmiedeeisernen Geländer aus einem Stück verziert ist, einem wahren Meisterwerk von Jean Lamour.
Die Treppe, deren Wände mit Fresken von Girardet geschmückt sind, führt zum Salon Carré, einem Salon im italienischen Stil, der dem Grand Salon vorangeht.
