Die Existenz dieses Monolithen mit einem Durchmesser von einem Meter wird auf 45 Millionen Jahre geschätzt. Eine Legende aus dem Jahr 1124 berichtet, dass er als Zeichen eines göttlichen Fluches vom Himmel geworfen wurde, da die Dorfbewohner den der Abtei von Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold geschuldeten Zehnten nicht gezahlt hatten. War es ein Meteorit? Am wahrscheinlichsten ist, dass dieser in der Region einzigartige Monolith in der Urzeit von den mächtigen Wasserläufen, die während des Rückzugs der Meere aus den Vogesen kamen, hier abgelagert wurde. Er wurde 1965 auf einen Sockel montiert und befindet sich heute rechts neben der Treppe, die zur Kirche führt.
