Questo monolite, del diametro di 1 metro, ha un'età stimata di 45 milioni di anni. Secondo una leggenda risalente al 1124, fu scagliato dal cielo come segno di sventura divina quando gli abitanti del villaggio non pagarono la decima dovuta all'abbazia di Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. Un meteorite? La spiegazione più probabile è che questo monolite, unico nella regione, sia stato depositato qui dai potenti fiumi che scorrevano dai Vosgi quando i mari si ritirarono in epoca preistorica. È stato montato su un basamento nel 1965 e ora si trova a destra della scalinata che porta alla chiesa.
