Gunsbach, ein Dorf mit 920 Einwohnern, geht auf das Jahr 1278 zurück, wobei sein Name an einen sumpfigen Bach erinnert oder mit einem Mann namens Guno in Verbindung gebracht wird. Es war mit den Hattstatt und später mit den Ribeaupierre verbunden. Dank Dr. Albert Schweitzer wurde er weltweit bekannt. Sein Haus ist heute ein Museum, das jedes Jahr von Tausenden von Menschen besucht wird. Sehenswert: die Simultankirche, das Rathaus aus dem Jahr 1570, das ehemalige Pfarrhaus und das Albert Schweitzer gewidmete Denkmal. Zu den Attraktionen gehören der Albert-Schweitzer-Pfad, der Wasserspaziergang und das Afrikamuseum, die Sie unbedingt besuchen sollten, um das Erbe des Friedensnobelpreisträgers zu verstehen.
