Das Gebäude wurde während des Wiederaufbaus der Stadt nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg errichtet, bei dem das Gebäude Ponts et Chaussées zerstört wurde.
Auf dem Gelände befinden sich neben dem Verwaltungsgebäude auch Werkstätten für Kesselbau, Malerei, Sand, Ziegelei, Elektrizität, Laden- und Lagerflächen für Bojen sowie deren Ketten und Liegeplätze.
Es gibt auch einige Bojen der vorherigen Generation.
