Werfenstein is a lowland castle in the Strudengau region of Upper Austria. It stands by the Danube in the village of Struden, part of the municipality of St. Nikola on the Danube. The ruins were developed into a private retirement residence starting in 1963. The castle was built in a strategically important location. It was part of an old toll and security system along the Danube in the Strudengau.
