The Roman Catholic parish church of Filzmoos is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, with the patronage festival celebrated on June 29. It belongs to the Altenmarkt deanery of the Archdiocese of Salzburg and is a significant local pilgrimage church where the Filzmoos Child is venerated.
A church is mentioned in 1453, and by 1507, the priest was already referred to as the "priest of the Church of Grace." The existing Gothic structure was built as a filial church of the Altenmarkt deanery and consecrated on October 19, 1479, with the west tower completed in 1546. The pilgrimage to the Filzmoos Child fell into decline due to Protestantism and only regained popularity around 1700.
