Schloss Krippach is located in the municipality of Absam near Hall in Tyrol in the Innsbruck Land district of Tyrol.
Around 995 AD, Abzanes is mentioned for the first time in the tradition books of the Diocese of Brixen. At that time, the episcopal seat of Augsburg owned most of the land in this area. The Augsburg landholdings in North Tirol were managed from the Obristmajerhof, the present-day Schloss Kippach. Around 1711, the castle received its current Baroque appearance. During construction work at the end of the 20th century, building substance from the 13th century was also discovered.
