Town Hall of Westerlo. The castle of Countess Jeanne de Merode was built in 1910 in the Brabant Gothic style of the 16th century. It was built according to the plan of the Leuven architect Langerock. During World War II, the castle was taken by the Germans. Later it served as a resting place for elderly priests. In 1972, the municipality bought the castle and converted it into a town hall and cultural centre.
