Brûly-de-Pesche is the place where Hitler stayed for a short time at the beginning of World War II. Based on his experience of World War I, he had expected that the German army would be stuck on the Belgian-French border for some time. That is why he had his HQ built here to direct his troops from here, close to the front. To his great surprise, his troops were able to advance to the coast of the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in a matter of weeks. He left this super secret place after only a few weeks.
