The name "Het Pandreitje" in Bruges has gone down in history as the name of a prison. In 1827, the meat house was converted into a national prison, and it would remain that way until 1989. All that time, the prison was named after the street it was located on. And everyone knew what was meant by "He's in 't Pandreitje". The old prison was demolished in 1992. It had to make way for an inner-city development with 75 homes.
