According to a legend, a wooden figurine was found in a wood mite of farm 't Hof in Veylst. This was what Mara's mother suggested: Saint Anne. She carried on her arm Mary who in turn carried Jesus. The statue was first placed in a few wooden chapels, but eventually a stone chapel was built in 1639. This would be linked to the plague epidemic from which many people in the region had been spared. (and attributed to this figurine). Did you know that since 1631 the chapel mass has been celebrated every Tuesday evening.
