This military cemetery on the edge of the Houthulst forest was established after World War I. The 1,723 Belgian graves originate from field graves and smaller cemeteries in the area. Most soldiers fell on September 28 or 29, 1918, during the Final Offensive. You will also find 81 Italian graves in this cemetery. These Italian soldiers were German prisoners of war. This Belgian military cemetery is the second largest and has a six-pointed star as its layout.
