Lanklaar is a village in the Belgian province of Limburg and a district of the city of Dilsen-Stokkem. It was an independent municipality until it was merged into the newly formed municipality of Dilsen-Stokkem in 1971.
Lanklaar is geographically located partly in the Meuse valley and partly on the Kempen Plateau. As a result, there is a significant elevation difference between the village center east of the Zuid-Willemsvaart and the plateau where extensive forests and the residential areas Grote Homo and Klein Homo can be found, a distortion of the family name of Joseph Haumont, a conductor of Bridges and Roads who settled here around 1840. Between the village center and the plateau lies the industrial area of Lanklaar.
