Nieuwmoer is the smallest of the five villages of Kalmthout in the Belgian province of Antwerp.
For centuries, peat extraction was an important pillar on which the exploitation of the region was based. The peat was transported along peat canals to Roosendaal.
In the east of Nieuwmoer lies the De Maatjes nature reserve. The continuation of this in the Netherlands is called Matjens.
In the village itself is the neo-Gothic Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, built in 1844-1846.
