The picturesque village is located on the lower line of the province of Liège, on the right bank of the Ourthe, on the border with the province of Luxembourg. Before the merger in 1977, Sy was an independent municipality. The area here is called the Little Belgian Switzerland. Sy offers us a hospitable tourist infrastructure, climbing rocks, signposted hikes and the ruins of the castle of Logne. Sy was used several times as a motif by the Liège painter Richard Heintz, who also lived here and died in 1929.
