Description

These lakes also turn yellow and pink in spring with dotter flowers, cuckoo flowers and large rattle. The relief of land dunes and embankments is very striking. The dense network of ditches has the Meersbeek as its central watercourse and was built during the early Middle Ages. Polecats, ermines, weasels, stone martens and since a few years also foxes and roe deer find a home here. Typical meadow birds such as lapwings, mallards, crested ducks, squat ducks and yellow wagtails breed in the area.
