Outremeuse is a district in the Belgian municipality and city of Liège. On December 31, 2015, the district had 9,799 inhabitants.
The name Outremeuse means "across the Meuse." Since the construction of the drainage canal in the 19th century, it has been a small island at the point where the Ourthe and Meuse rivers meet. Previously, it was called Entre Ourthe et Meuse. The palace of the prince-bishop of Liège, Ernest of Bavaria, was located in this district; he gave it up to establish a hospital there.
