The Northern Island is a beautiful and surprising piece of nature, near the sluice of Wintam. A few years ago, the Northern Island was still a reclaimed lunar landscape. Today it is a beautiful nature reserve of 50 hectares with varying willow thickets, rich herb meadows, sand dunes, mudflats, and water bodies.
Galloway cattle and Konik horses give the landscape a unique appearance. Water and migratory birds also feel right at home there.
