Next to the Fondatie van Boudelo lies the Heirnisse, a nature reserve managed by the Agency for Nature and Forest. In the forest on the left side of the bike path, there are rough birch, hazel, American oak, and common maple, among others. Between the bike path and the forest, you can see a strip of grass where various herbs grow, including the true cuckoo flower.
