This was probably originally the brother house of the noble monastery. Here clergy were housed who came to preach or hear the confessions as priests in the abbey church. After the French Revolution, the building passed into the hands of the de Matthys family, who turned it into a classicist style mansion. In 1950 it was even a hotel restaurant. Both the castle and the park are protected as landscape.
