Probablemente, originalmente fue la casa de los hermanos del capítulo nobiliario. Aquí se alojaban clérigos que venían a predicar o a oír la confesión como sacerdotes en la iglesia del capítulo. Después de la Revolución Francesa, el edificio pasó a manos de la familia de Matthys, que lo transformó en una mansión de estilo clasicista. En 1950, incluso fue un hotel-restaurante.
