The Old Scheldt was left behind after an artificial cutoff of a Scheldt meander at the end of the 19th century. After years of siltation, open water was re-established in 2002 through the Agency for Nature and Forests East Flanders.
You can freely walk around the adjacent domain forest. A starting point is located on Main Street opposite house number 171.
