The Lot lock is one of the 7 locks that lower boats by about 40 m between the foot of the Ronquières Inclined Plane and the center of Brussels. Several dozen boats pass through there each day.
It is also worth noting that the stream called 'Lotbeek' flows from one bank to the other, under the canal, approximately beneath the upper gate of the lock. The Lotbeek continues its journey parallel to the canal, from the center of Lot to Drogenbos, where it empties into the Senne.
