These eight homes, built according to a mirror image scheme , are located on the Predikherenstraat in Wingene. They were built in 1928 for the servants of the associated radio center of the Radio Maritime Services service.
On December 13, 1923 , King Albert I laid the foundation stone of the transmitting station.
The first radio-telegraph link, Brussels-New York , was inaugurated on October 3, 1927; the first messages with the road sign "via BELRADIO" reached America directly, along a Belgian road.
