The town hall of Spa was built between 1762 and 1768.
This building in beautiful Louis XVI style is the work of the architect Digneffe. In the 18th century it received the industrialists who came to commercialize the spring water . In 1822, this Grand Hotel became the property of John Cockerill , who turned it into a carding machine factory (carding is the act of separating the wool fibres).
Today this building houses the town hall.
