The great revolution - of Italian origin - that the lifestyle experienced in our time and that was called Slow Food as opposed to Fast Food has set a precedent. Likewise, the concepts of Slow City (from the Italian città lente), Slow Living, Slow Music, and Slow Sex have begun their advance. Even Slow Reading and Slow Journalism have emerged. In a word, everything has become Slow. The notion of Slow is present everywhere. It fits perfectly with the stressful life we lead. This revolution emphasizes the quality of the present moment: a good meal, a walk in the city, an hour alone with a book, ... These moments allow us to recharge our energy. They are simple things, but capable of making life so much more enjoyable. Überlingen, on the shores of Lake Constance, has been a Slow City since 2005, one of the four in Germany - the others being Hersbruck, Schwarzenbruck, and Waldkirch. The Slow Cities have committed to applying the principles of the Slow Movement.
