The Rathaus-Center is a shopping center in Dessau, Germany, which opened on September 21, 1995 after a construction period of one and a half years. It is located in the city centre between the city park and the town hall of the Bauhaus city.
The Rathaus-Center Dessau has a sales area of 20,400 m², and the building also includes 4,800 m² of office space. There are 90 shops on two levels, whose mix of industries is dominated by textiles. 600 employees are employed in the shopping centre, and the core catchment area comprises 500,000 people. The construction costs for the Rathaus-Center amounted to DM 250 million, with Karstadt AG and Hamburger Immobilien-KG Schliebe Co. The project is being managed by ECE Projektmanagement GmbH.
