Fort Ellenserdamm is located directly south of Ellenserdammersiel. It was built as a closed lunette. The facility was designed for two infantry battalions. The structure had a length of 200 meters and a width of 100 meters. The moat is largely still intact.
Fort Ellenserdamm was built before World War I. To the north of the facility were the Flak battery Ellenserdam and the battery Ellenserdamm during World War I. In World War II, it was reactivated for the air defense of Wilhelmshaven. The facility was inhabited until the 1970s.
