Description

The Jardins de la Plaça de les Tortugues is a small garden that houses the Font de les Tortugues surrounded by bitter orange trees ( Citrus aurantium ) on the outer edge.

In the gardens of this Plaça de les Tortugues is the monument to Our Lady of the Rosary , erected by the city in memory of the 1755 tsunami .

The tortoises surrounding the fountain are believed to be lucky animals and symbolize longevity and protection . Therefore, turtles appear in a large number of temples and cities
