Soria, valley of tears and Corkscrew

This is a demanding but great tour through the rugged mountains of Gran Canaria. It offers great scenic highlights, but requires strength and endurance. The tour takes you over some climbs of the island and through the Valley of Tears, which lives up to its name. Here bizarre landscape meets loneliness and undulating terrain. A narrow lane winds its way up and down through the breathtaking canyon. Anyone who refills his drinks at the orange station or in Aldea could be in acute need of fluids in the heat. On the other hand, the trade winds here can lead to uncomfortable weather conditions, although there is the best weather in the south of the island.

The real difficulty follows, however. A small road to El Carrizal winds over numerous serpentines up the slope and is reminiscent of a corkscrew. The landscape is still attractive, but you might not notice it due to the steep slopes and the length. Fortunately, the path to the summit tends to lead us downhill to the finish.
