The château, adorned with a rocaille-panelled Assembly apartment, was home to many famous personalities and became a favorite residence of Louis XVI. Its formal garden, with canals and six islands, contrasts with the 18th-century English garden. Among its treasures is the Chaumière aux Coquillages, a gift from the Duc de Penthièvre to the Princesse de Lamballe. The Queen's Dairy is home to Pierre Julien's "Amalthée et la Nymphe" sculptural group. Site classified as a Remarkable Garden.
